The rain Gods and the Indian bowling line-up have ensured that India will win the series and it the same factors that will decide whether the final scoreline will be 2-1 or 3-1. Kuldeep Yadav's five-fer restricted Australia to 300 in the first innings and follow-on was enforced on Australia in Australia for the first time in 31 years.

India came into the match at the back of a huge victory and the storyline of the match at SCG has been similar to that at MCG. After winning the toss, India chose to bat first on a pitch which had almost nothing for the bowlers.

At the start, Mayank Agarwal once again impressed one and all with a fine half-century. India's No.3 Cheteshwar Pujara then built a string of partnerships and put India in a solid position with his daddy hundred.

After the dismissal of Pujara, a distraught Australian bowling line-up wanted some respite but a double century partnership between Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja ensured that Australia were almost out of the game. While the all-rounder scored a useful half-century, the 21-year-old recorded the highest score by an Indian wicketkeeper in SENA countries.

With India's huge first innings total of 622 to chase, Australia started off well with two half-century partnership but the wicket of Marcus Harris derailed their innings. Kuldeep Yadav and Jadeja were the chiefs of destruction as they picked up five and three wickets each in the first innings.

On Day 4, India picked up the remaining four Australian wickets and enforced a follow-on but the regular interruption of rain meant that only 25.2 overs were bowled. Four overs into the second innings, Australia haven't lost any wickets but they trail India by 316 runs. While the Australian batters might hope for some rain tomorrow, India will try to win the series 3-1.
