Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) stalwart Virat Kohli was left amazed by teammate Will Jacks' stunning onslaught against the Gujarat Titans (GT) bowlers on Sunday in IPL 2024.

In a chase of 201 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, RCB got off to a brisk start, reaching 40 in 3.5 overs. Captain Faf du Plessis (24) departed at that juncture, bringing Will Jacks to the crease.

He looked tentative initially, scoring 16 runs in his first 16 balls. Virat Kohli (70*) looked in great rhythm at the other end and eased the pressure on his partner by accumulating runs briskly. It allowed Jack to get settled at the crease before going berserk later.

The Englishman reached his half-century in 31 balls and then smashed his way to a century in the next ten balls to power RCB to 206/1 in just 16 overs. When just one run was needed for the win, Will Jacks hit Rashid Khan for a big six at the end of the 16th over to finish his century and also the match in style for RCB.

Virat Kohli, who was at the other end, was elated for his batting partner as the duo celebrated joyfully after the match-winning hit.

"One of the better T20 hundred I have watched"- Virat Kohli on Will Jacks' century in RCB vs GT IPL 2024 clash

Speaking after the conclusion of the match, Virat Kohli heaped praise on Will Jacks for his phenomenal knock and stated that it was one of the better centuries he had watched in the T20 format.

Reflecting on the chase and Jacks' century, Kohli said:

"It was Phenomenal ball striking, initially when he came into bat, he was bit annoyed that he couldn't strike the ball like he wanted to, but the only conversation we had is to keep backing yourself, keep committing, because we know how explosive he can be. My role changed after that Mohit's over and I was glad to watch that from the other end, we thought we will finish in 19, but it's remarkable to finish in 15 overs, one of the better T20 hundred I have watched."

Kohli added:

"I was having fun at the other end. The wicket was pretty good, towards the later half their innings, it started to settle down, reason why we wanted to bowl first. The wicket just tends to settle down and the ball comes on nicely in the evening."

The Royal Challenegers Bengaluru will once again face GT in their next match of IPL 2024 on Saturday (May 4) at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
