There were several reports that MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, a biopic on former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, could have its own sequel. Before the release of the biopic in 2016, Dhoni himself said that there shouldn't be a sequel to the movie, as it will be controversial. But, if recent reports are to be believed, there will be a sequel to the movie.

The report also revealed that Sushant Singh Rajput, who made justice to the on-screen MS Dhoni in the first part, will play the lead again with Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP films producing it.

It has been disclosed that the movie, that ended with Dhoni hitting the winning runs for India in the 2011 World Cup, will be covering the former skipper's life since then. It is not sure when the movie will be releasing but one thing is certain, the fans of Dhoni and the movie buffs will have a lot of entertainment if and when the movie releases.

A lot of things can be covered in the sequel. Let us take a look at six things the fans would love to see in the sequel.

"Not really. I have been blessed with a baby daughter. Mum and daughter both are good. But as of now I am on national duties so I think everything else can wait. The World Cup is a very important campaign," said Dhoni when he was asked about travelling to India to see his new-born daughter just days before the start of the 2015 World Cup.

The Indian stumper had to wait for more than 50 days to see the face of his new-born daughter because he put his country and team before his personal life. India bowed out in the semi-final of the 2015 World Cup and that's when Dhoni got a chance to see his daughter.

An emotional story about the birth of his daughter and the emotions that went through Dhoni when he saw her face for the first time after returning to India will leave the audience reach for a handkerchief or a tissue.

#5 Chennai Super Kings' suspension and their return

Chennai Super Kings players celebrate a wicket during 2018 IPL

One of the major disappointments in the first part of the movie is that it didn't portray the kind of relationship he had with his IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings. In fact, the whole movie had just one scene on the franchise unveiling him ahead of the first season.

A lot of things have changed since the end of 2011 World Cup. Dhoni led them to their second consecutive IPL title in 2011, the only team to do so in the IPL so far, almost won their third in 2012, slapped with a two-year suspension in 2015, served the ban, returned to the field and ended up winning their third title in 2018 after a two-year absence.

This is something that the fans, especially the Chennai Super Kings fans, would love to see.

#4 MS Dhoni's hard times

England v India: 3rd npower Test - Day Four
The 2011 tour of England is one of the tours MS Dhoni will like to forget

The first part came to an end with MS Dhoni's six to win the World Cup for India. One couldn't have asked for a better finish to a biopic of a sportsperson who has done a lot to his country.

But, Dhoni went through a dark phase as a captain soon after as India, under his leadership, went 14 matches without a win away from home, which included a 4-0 in England and a 4-0 in Australia (Dhoni captained in just three matches in Australia). He faced a lot of criticisms and came back strongly.

This is not the only struggle he faced after the 2011 World Cup. His form dipped marginally in limited-overs cricket and there were a lot of calls for his retirement from the format. He silenced all his critics once for all with his swashbuckling knocks in the 2018 IPL, which many believe is a resurrection of MS Dhoni.

Like any other cricketer, he had hard times and he faced a lot of criticisms then. But, he overcame everything and is still going strong. The way he came back from his setbacks will also be an inspiration for a lot of people who are facing similar issues.

#3 MS Dhoni's retirement from Tests

Australia v India: 3rd Test - Day 5
MS Dhoni's final Test match

When India were performing poorly in Test cricket away from home, a lot of fans across the country wanted the board to sack the skipper. But, the players in the squad then were either former captains who already gave up captaincy to concentrate on their game or youngsters who were finding their feet at the top level.

Dhoni continued to lead the team in Tests and when Virat Kohli became mature, Dhoni called it a day from the longer format after the completion of the third Test against Australia in Melbourne in 2015. No one saw this coming, especially in the middle of a four-match series.

The reason behind his abrupt decision is not disclosed yet. A brief story revolving around his Test retirement will give a clear idea behind his decision.

#2 Backing young players

Australia v India: Carlton Mid ODI Tri Series - Game 2
MS Dhoni played a key role in Rohit Sharma's career

A lot of players in the current Indian set-up owe their careers to MS Dhoni for believing in them and backing them even if they were failing on a consistent basis.

Indian vice-captain in limited-overs formats, Rohit Sharma are two of the finest examples for this. Ever since making his debut, Rohit was very inconsistent and was in and out of the side.

But, he had the potential to succeed and when Indian openers were failing in ODIs, Dhoni gave Rohit the nod in ODIs and the rest, as they say, is history as Rohit went on to become one of the best ODI batsmen around.

Apart from Rohit, India skipper Virat Kohli, openers Murali Vijay and Shikar Dhawan, spin-twins in Tests, R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, pacers Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav etc. A set of fans would be eager to know why Dhoni backed these players in spite of them failing regularly.

#1 2013 ICC Champions Trophy win

Cricket - ICC Champions Trophy - Final - England v India - Edgbaston
2013 ICC champions trophy champions

In 2013, MS Dhoni did the unthinkable as he became the first captain to win an ICC World T20, ICC World Cup and ICC Champions Trophy. The Champions Trophy victory will be a memorable one for all the players and fans as no one gave India a chance to go all the way because of the IPL spot-fixing scandal that was surrounding the Indian team then and had a lot of young and upcoming players in the team.

In the final, India managed to score just 129 in their 20 overs. But, the bowlers came out all guns firing and helped the team. In the post-match presentation, Dhoni spoke about the talk the team had before taking the field for the chase. So, the movie depicting about the Champions Trophy triumph will make the audience stay glued to the screen.
