"Quick cheap ones': Paul George blames officiating for foul trouble, insinuates there is bias

Paul George and the Los Angeles Clippers suffered a tough loss against the Dallas Mavericks in Game 3 of their best-of-seven Round 1 series. LA's offense took a huge hit which started strong before quickly losing steam. Following the disappointing 101-90 loss, George felt compelled to voice his disapproval of the officiating.

The nine-time NBA All-Star entered the Eastern Conference playoff series on the back of a superb regular season, in which he averaged 22.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists across 74 games. However, the 33-year-old could not steer his team past Luka Doncic's Mavericks.

In his post-game interview, Paul George questioned the credibility of the match officials:

“Been the last 3 games. I don’t know what it is. I thought this was playoff basketball,” Paul George said.

He also acknowledged room for improvement in his own play:

“Defense can be physical and be aggressive on me. Other side of it I pick up quick cheap ones. But I gotta be better.”

Paul George slammed for ‘useless’ performance as Clippers face do-or-die circumstances in Game 4

Paul George failed to impress for the Clippers against the Mavericks and has since been slammed for his "useless" performance.

George was quiet, physically dominated by Daniel Gafford and unable to make an impact on the game. He finished G3 with 7 points on 3-of-11 shooting in 30 minutes, adding to the narrative of him disappearing in the postseason.

As one would expect, his performances have not gone without notice among Clippers fans on Twitter:

Another comment read, “Paul George too useless dawg. Bum ass n***a. From one Tobias Harris to another. FML!!”
One fan stated, “Paul George bet not make another podcast episode until he has a good offensive game.”
Another pointed out, “The 'P' in the playoffs P for Paul George is P*ss poor. He better retire and become a full-time podcaster.”
One user wrote, “Feel bad for Paul George he might end his career with no rings or mvp.”

Despite having star-studded squads with names like Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and James Harden, the Clippers haven't yet reached the promised land once. With the odds stacked against them, they need every ounce of luck and a much better performance to pull off a win in Game 4 on Sunday.
