The signing of top talents can make or break a promotion in the wrestling business, and in this high-stakes game, WWE's Chief Content Officer Triple H could orchestrate a massive coup that deals a significant blow to Tony Khan's AEW.

The name that could pose a problem for Tony Khan is none other than Will Ospreay. Ospreay, who is one of the top talents in NJPW, has his contract with the Japanese promotion set to expire in February 2024. He has already made several appearances in AEW and TNA Wrestling.

The news of his contract expiration has set the wrestling world abuzz with speculation about the future of the IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion. It is no surprise that various promotions, including AEW and TNA, have shown interest in him.

In a recent interview with Metro, Ospreay was asked about signing with WWE, where he disclosed his willingness to consider a move to the United States. This news has fueled rumors of a potential deal with the Stamford-based promotion.

If Triple H manages to ink a deal with Ospreay, it could be a game-changing move for WWE and a significant setback for Tony Khan's promotion, which has been recently struggling with ratings and fan attendance.

However, it is important to note that Ospreay has not made a decision about his future yet.

NJPW star Will Ospreay reveals his reasons for not joining WWE

New Japan Pro-Wrestling star Will Ospreay talked about his decision not to join the Stamford-based promotion.

In an interview with the WRESTHINGS podcast, Ospreay spoke about the advantages of working with NJPW and why he does not want to join the Stamford-based promotion.

"I have no aspirations of going to WWE, at all. It's not because of the product or anything, I'm not a fan of it, I will happily say, but my lifestyle, I never wanted to be the big star pro wrestler. Japan allows me to do a tour and come home and live my family life. If anybody has ever spent more than a couple of days with me, family to me is everything," Ospreay said.

He added:

"I love my mom, I love my dad, no shame in saying it. Love my nan and granddad and will bend over backward and fold myself in half for those guys. New Japan, for me, is the enhancement and the focus is professional wrestling." [H/T Fightful]

With Ospreay's contract expiring next year and his willingness to consider a move to the United States, he could potentially consider joining the Stamford-based promotion.
