A former veteran wrestling manager reflected on why the former WWE Divas Champion, Nikki Bella, wanted to work with Tony Khan. The veteran also explained why AEW must avoid setting a precedent.

Nikki Bella is undoubtedly a legend in the wrestling business and also deserves credit for elevating women's wrestling. Nikki spent the majority of her wrestling career in WWE before her departure in 2022. Recently, Bella revealed how she was going to call Tony Khan after watching Mercedes Mone on AEW.

Khan also responded to Nikki's comments, saying he would love to welcome both the Bella twins to AEW. Meanwhile, the WWE veteran in question, Jim Cornette, shed light on why Nikki wants to work with Tony Khan, speaking on his Official Jim Cornette podcast:

"I'm sure she [Nikki Bella] did say that because now look at the precedent that's been set. How much money did they pay for Saraya/Paige? and that she's still getting it, they're not using her, she's hardly ever there you don't see her, she didn't get over, she means nothing but she's getting a lot of money. Then I direct your attention to Mercedes Moon [Mone], I direct your attention to at one point Ruby Soso [Soho] was gonna be the game changer in the women's wrestling."

Cornette also explained how Khan is setting a precedent:

"He is setting up a precedent where if you have a name now in the women's division anywhere they will give you a lot of money and if he's heard that Riho really made 400 grand to work like 15 times, of course every woman in the business is gotta be like, 'yeah I'd love to work for Tony Khan.'" Nikki Bella on why she didn't call Tony Khan

As mentioned earlier, Nikki Bella thought of calling Tony Khan after watching Mercedes Mone (fka Sasha Banks) in AEW. However, her responsibilities towards her son stopped her from doing so, as she admitted on The Nikki & Brie Show:

"I go, 'Brie, I think I can do it for a year. I can do it here to here and go every week.' Then, I thought of Matteo. I had a good week of like, 'This is it. I'm going to call Tony Khan. I'm your girl. I will commit.' Then, I was like, 'I can't do that to my son right now. He needs me."

Moreover, Nikki has not been associated with pro wrestling ever since her WWE departure in 2022. Only time will tell what the future holds for Bella.
