A former AEW World Champion recently teased a return to the wrestling ring after being on the sidelines due to injury for more than 14 months. The former champion in question is Thunder Rosa.

Thunder Rosa recently took to social media to propose a wrestling match with CMLL (Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre) World Women's Champion Stephanie Vaquer. The 37-year-old called Vaquer her friend but added that there is no greater respect than colliding in the ring.

Rosa said she was ready to take on the 30-year-old Lucha Libre star, and the only detail left to be worked out was the time and place of the match. Thunder Rosa wrote:

"Rumors and Questions Everyone has questions. My answer is I AM READY. @Steph_Vaquer for you my respect and friendship, you are one of the best, but there is no greater respect than colliding in the ring. That is immortality. All that remains to be resolved is when and where? In #Mexico or in #EstadosUnidos , in @AEW or in @CMLL_OFICIAL If you also want it to happen, tag the bosses. #AEW #CMLL #ThunderRosaVsStephanieVaquer #GiveThePeopleWhatTheyWant"

Thunder Rosa won the AEW Women's World Championship in March 2022, but an injury forced her to relinquish the title in August. La Mera Mera's last match in All Elite Wrestling was in August 2022 on Dark: Elevation when she teamed with Hikaru Shida and Toni Storm in a Trios match to take on Emi Sakura, Marina Shafir, and Nyla Rose.

Thunder Rosa recently challenged two-time AEW World Champion Toni Storm

Former Women's World Champion Toni Storm recently suffered a series of setbacks, including the loss of her title and fallout with her Outcasts stablemates. As a result, she went through a character transition and embraced an unhinged Hollywood diva persona.

Thunder Rosa, who successfully defended her title at Forbidden Door 2022 against Toni Storm, recently took shots at the Timeless One through a social media post and claimed to have her number.

"This buns of steel are ready to be bitten by “Ms Timeless” does anyone has her number?…. Cause I certainly did" - Thunder Rosa wrote.
