Did CM Punk's recent suspension affect plans for 33-year-old star? Analyzing potential change for AEW

Could CM Punk
Could CM Punk's rumored suspension have derailed this star's plans in AEW?

CM Punk is, unfortunately, at the center of the latest chapter of AEW's internal conflict of drama. Rumors have alleged that the Second City Saint is suspended ahead of AEW's Chicago week, but could this have affected Ricky Starks?

Before the promotion went off to the UK, Starks and Punk entered into an interesting feud that seemed to bring out the worst in the 33-year-old. The Absolute star even had a shot at CM Punk's Real AEW World Championship, but what will happen to the unfinished storyline between them?

Notably, in a report from PWInsider, there's some speculation that if CM Punk is in fact suspended from AEW yet again, it could derail whatever plans there were for Ricky Starks.

"The original plan for this weekend was to have CM Punk in action at All Out, but we will see what happens now. I am GUESSING they would have gone with Ricky Starks, but a Samoa Joe rematch could always have been possible, but Starks would have made the most sense from a storyline-standpoint."

However, while there were reports that both Punk and Jack Perry were suspended for their All In altercation, the news might have been premature. According to Sean Ross Sapp, the Second City Saint had not been informed about any official suspensions.

Reports of CM Punk's alleged near-scuffle with Miro have also now seemingly been debunked

Following the reports of Punk's altercation with Jack Perry, rumors broke that he nearly got into a tussle with Miro. According to these reports, The Redeemer approached CM Punk after his brawl, which led to the Second City Saint aggressively antagonizing the star.

According to Fightful Select (subscription required), these reports were highly inaccurate, and the men were simply bantering with one another.

"Miro asked how Punk was doing, Punk said something like, 'Okay unless you want to fight me too.' And I believe Miro, also jokingly, was like, 'Okay.' Punk said, 'Well let’s take this outside then,' and Miro said something like, 'How about we take this… to the ring!' It is two guys who are very clearly willing to fight human beings, and also have been known to make a joke or two."

If this version of events ends up being true, it could indicate that there's someone within AEW feeding misleading information on purpose. However, by tonight's Dynamite and this weekend's Collision, fans will likely have an idea of what the truth is.
