WWE Rumours: Roman Reigns to face Braun Strowman at Wrestlemania 33

A visual we have to get used to in the coming months?

Ever since his return from the one-month wellness policy violation suspension, Roman Reigns had a few tough months after being pinned clean by both his Shield brothers and losing the WWE Championship.

It seems like Vince McMahon is prepared to give Reigns yet another push which might begin with a rumoured victory over Kevin Owens at Roadblock: End Of The Line. If Reigns wins, he will then hold both the WWE Universal Championship as well as the United States title.

Regarding Reigns’ Wrestlemania opponent, Dave Meltzer believes that the WWE has big plans for Reigns at Wrestlemania and according to inquistr.com, he will most likely defend the Universal Championship against Braun Strowman at the event. Strowman could also end up winning the title if WWE intends on pushing him to the moon.

According to Forbes, The opponent for Braun Strowman after Sami Zayn will be The Big Show, the battle of the giants will elevate Strowman to the next level and will also be the proverbial passing of the torch as Big Show is set to retire soon.

There were big plans for Strowman for the last Wrestlemania as well; he was rumoured to face “The Deadman” at the event, but significant fan backlash made the WWE withdraw their original plans.

Strowman was also rumoured to face Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 32; the signs were visible at the 2016 Royal Rumble where the Wyatt Family were responsible for Lesnar’s elimination from the Rumble.

The signs for the Strowman push are noticeable as he is currently one of the most strongly booked guys on the RAW roster. His image as a monster, the squash matches as well as a dominating performance in the Survivor Series elimination match can be said as a precursor to a mega push which might begin soon.

This huge push might also lead to a victory for Braun Strowman in the Rumble match at the Royal Rumble. The WWE have failed to produce captivating winners at the Rumble in the past couple of years after the victory of Reigns and Batista were met with severe criticism.

This rumoured plan by the WWE may not be received well, as the WWE Universe are tired of seeing Reigns at the top, and this recent push might hamper the momentum of Kevin Owens who has been a fan-favourite champion so far.

It looks like the WWE are planning for the same fairytale ending with yet another title victory for Reigns at Wrestlemania and McMahon’s obsession with Reigns might end up making fans lose interest in the product.
