WWE fans would not care if Roman Reigns faced 38-year-old, according to Dutch Mantell

Legendary wrestling booker Dutch Mantell recently gave his thoughts on whether Roman Reigns should face Karrion Kross in WWE one day.

On the January 5 episode of SmackDown, Kross and his valet Scarlett formed an alliance with the returning AOP and Paul Ellering. The new faction looks set to feud with Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits in the coming weeks.

Mantell said on Story Time with Dutch Mantell that fans are not interested in a bout between 38-year-old Kross and Reigns:

"No. Hell, that would hurt Roman Reigns. It's supposed to help Karrion Kross, but it would actually hurt Roman for him to be in the same ring with Karrion Kross. The people would sit there like this [arms folded]. That's what you don't want them to do." [27:12 – 27:31]

Reigns' next televised match will take place at the Royal Rumble on January 27. The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion is set to defend his title against AJ Styles, LA Knight, and Randy Orton.

What happened when Karrion Kross encountered Roman Reigns

On August 5, 2022, Karrion Kross and Scarlett returned to WWE nine months after being released by the company.

Kross made an instant statement by attacking Drew McIntyre at ringside on SmackDown. Scarlett then placed an hourglass on the ring apron while Roman Reigns and The Usos watched on from inside the ring.

The storyline resulted in Kross feuding with McIntyre for several months. It initially looked as though the two-time NXT Champion would also target Reigns, but a match between the two never materialized.
