Main Event Jey Uso recently spoke about his WWE Backlash France encounter against Damian Priest. Uso discussed how he was working hard and would eventually win a World Championship in the company.

Jey has come agonizingly close to winning the big prize on a number of occasions. He had almost defeated Roman Reigns at SummerSlam 2023 before his brother Jimmy Uso cost him the opportunity. More recently, he squared off against Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship at Backlash but came up short once again.

During an exclusive interview with the Battleground Podcast, Jey mentioned that the odds have always been stacked against him. He claimed he was ready to work and stick to the grind. The star hoped he would eventually get his turn organically, the same way he got over with the WWE Universe.

"The way it played out was how it was supposed to play out. I know my position, I know what I'm up against. I know I'm fighting uphill from the dirt all the way up to the top. The Judgment Day, it's the same story with The Bloodline, multiple people involved man. But it's all good because I'm gonna just stick my nose to the grind. And when it's my turn, my turn will organically happen like how everything organically happened for me to this point." [From 09:37 to 10:08]

Jey Uso also praised the fans in Lyon, France

During the same conversation, Jey Uso mentioned that it was an unreal experience being in front of the French fans at Backlash.

He claimed it was very loud in the arena and everyone lit their flashlights during his entrance. Jey said it immediately reminded him of Bray Wyatt.

"Man, you know what the crazy part is? It was so loud in there man, you can't hear it. If that makes sense. I had no idea they would do that. As soon as I saw it, I thought it was like how we all thought about [Bray Wyatt]." [From 01:42 to 02:07]

Over the last few weeks, Jey has claimed his right over the fireflies and adopted the "Yeeter of Worlds" moniker.

It will be interesting to see if this new wave of popularity helps Main Event Jey Uso win a World Championship in WWE.
