WrestleMania 37 - 5 Finishes for Seth Rollins vs. Cesaro

Will Cesaro get his first big singles win at WrestleMania 37?
Will Cesaro get his first big singles win at WrestleMania 37?

It has taken nearly a decade for the Swiss Superman, but Cesaro will finally have a featured singles match at WrestleMania this weekend. The powerful and popular WWE Superstar has competed in tag team title matches as well as Andre the Giant Battle Royals at the Show of Shows.

Instead of challenging for or defending a set of tag team titles, one of the most impressive and physically gifted stars in all of WWE gets to face Seth Rollins in one of his biggest matches ever. WrestleMania 37 could fix the injustice of Cesaro never getting a singles match and the star is certainly excited for it.

The fact that Cesaro hasn't been in a singles match at WrestleMania is both a blessing and a curse. He's too talented not to have had a spotlight. But because he is such a master of the craft, he's been vital to the mid-card and tag team divisions in WWE.

He talked about what having his first WrestleMania singles match would mean earlier this year. After the 2020 WWE Draft, both he and Shinsuke Nakamura seemingly began to turn face. It was a smart move because both men are among the more popular stars in WWE.

When Rollins returned to SmackDown following the 2021 Royal Rumble, he tried to coax stars into "embracing his vision." He returned the same man and no one wanted to hear more of his baseless preaching.

Cesaro was a main target after he denied Rollins' offer. The Messiah also felt he was humiliated after Cesaro swung him several times in the middle of the ring. It happened again backstage.

Since this is Cesaro's first singles match at WrestleMania, he needs a win. He may not get it due to Rollins' standing in the WWE, but there are a myriad of possible finishes for this match. Here are five finishes for Cesaro vs. Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 37.

#5 Cesaro submits Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 37

Could Cesaro win via submission at WrestleMania 37? It's very possible. His use of the Sharpshooter as a submission finisher is well-known ever since he partnered with Tyson Kidd.

Once that partnership ended due to an unfortunate injury to Kidd, Cesaro continued to use the move. Just like the Cesaro Swing, it's a move associated with the Swiss Superman and it's something he could break out at WrestleMania 37.

Since Cesaro is a face, he'll likely only win through honorable means. That means pinning or submitting Rollins clean. The Sharpshooter could come into play at WrestleMania 37 and it will certainly make the fans in attendance pop, given how iconic it is.

#4 Rollins cheats or gets help from Murphy to win at WrestleMania 37

Could Murphy make an appearance on Night 1?
Could Murphy make an appearance on Night 1?

Murphy is a part of the Andre the Giant Battle Royal on the SmackDown episode prior to WrestleMania 37. Once the angle with the Mysterios ended, it seems creative had nothing for Murphy. This is a shame since he's proven to be an extremely gifted performer in the ring.

There was a point during the build of the feud with Cesaro where Murphy returned to Seth Rollins' side. Rollins didn't want anything to do with him at first, but the two had a loose alliance against Cesaro and Nakamura.

The former Universal Champion was ringside for a match between the Swiss Superman and Murphy. Cesaro would win but Rollins didn't care, as he would attack his WrestleMania 37 opponent right after the bout ended.

Rollins' anger, along with his outlandish suits, has only highlighted his delusion. Getting swung a lot by Cesaro has also made Rollins seem more paranoid than ever.

The Messiah has shown he isn't afraid to sneak attack someone or use underhanded tactics to get his points across. He's attacked both Nakamura and the Swiss Superman from behind and could very well do the same at WrestleMania 37.

Since Murphy was briefly back in alliance with Rollins, it wouldn't be a huge shock if he somehow costs Cesaro the match. He might be trying to get back on Rollins' good side, since he is finished with the Mysterios.

The former Cruiserweight Champion also lost to Cesaro on a previous episode of SmackDown, as we discussed earlier. That probably hasn't sat well with him. He could very well show up to try and distract the Swiss Superman in order to help Rollins win.

While this seems like a match Cesaro should be booked to win, anything can happen. Cheating to win at WrestleMania is a high possibility given the shady nature of Rollins.

#3 Shinsuke Nakamura somehow helps Cesaro win at WrestleMania 37

Nakamura could show up to help his friend.
Nakamura could show up to help his friend.

Just as Murphy has been an ally to Rollins during this WrestleMania 37 angle, Nakamura has stood by the side of his friend and tag team partner. It's added new dimensions to SmackDown while also allowing both men to be fan favorites.

Cesaro has always received cheers from large portions of the WWE Universe, but his booking hasn't always met those cheers. WrestleMania 37 seems like the perfect spot to remedy that. The Swiss Superman is on a great run after big wins over Daniel Bryan and a good showing at Elimination Chamber.

Rollins and Nakamura even faced off at Fastlane after the Messiah hurt Cesaro the previous week. Once Rollins had prevailed over the King of Strong Style, Cesaro returned to protect his friend.

Like Murphy, Nakamura is a part of the Andre the Giant Battle Royal on the WrestleMania 37 go-home episode of SmackDown. Either man could feasibly win the match. At the very least, the two could come to blows during the contest due to their allegiances to Rollins and Cesaro.

Due to both men being involved, it seems like there should have at least been some sort of tag team match featuring all four men. It would have added another layer to the storyline and could have given Murphy and Nakamura more air time on SmackDown.

While the heels trying to cheat to win is more likely, Nakamura could very well show up. The chances of him showing up increase even more so if Murphy comes out first to interfere in the WrestleMania 37 match.

However, making the match at WrestleMania 37 a tag team match would have robbed Cesaro of the chance to have his first featured singles match at the PPV. For that reason, showing up to help his friend at WrestleMania 37 could be a way for Nakamura to get a brief WrestleMania moment this year.

Nakamura's booking has been inconsistent during his WWE career but he's always performed when given a chance.

#2 Rollins wins at WrestleMania 37 with a clean victory over Cesaro

Seth Rollins

If this match was taking place three years ago instead of at WrestleMania 37, then Rollins cleanly beating Cesaro would have been the likely finish. Rollins was still in the middle of his run atop the WWE, while Cesaro was still mainly considered a mid-carder or tag specialist.

Fast forward to 2021 and things have slightly changed. The Swiss Superman is getting meaningful air time on SmackDown. Rollins, on the other hand, is already a made man in WWE. He could easily recover from losing to Cesaro at WrestleMania 37. But since he's one of the top performers in all of WWE, he still might get the win.

Either man would be a worthy challenger for whomever wins the Universal Championship match at WrestleMania 37. Both are phenomenal in the ring and always give the fans a great performance.

Rollins' new character is delusional, but in a good way. While he still acts as if he is serious, it's hard not to chuckle when he wears the outlandish suits that he has been wearing during the build to WrestleMania 37.

While Rollins lost to Kevin Owens last year at WrestleMania 36, he did win the Universal Championship from Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 35. Overall, Rollins is 6-2 at the Show of Shows. He's even resorted to calling himself Mr. WrestleMania.

If Cesaro's push was just for this match, then Rollins picking up a clean win is a strong possibility. He's been out of the title picture since losing to The Fiend in 2019. Creative might want to get him back into the Universal Championship picture, especially if Daniel Bryan walks out of WrestleMania 37 as Champion.

A win by Rollins at WrestleMania 37 would also set Rollins up to challenge Big E if the current Intercontinental Champion retains his title at the Show of Shows.

This whole WrestleMania 37 angle should end only one way - with Cesaro beating the delusional Seth Rollins. Rollins has had plenty of runs in the main event and it's time for someone like Cesaro to get a shot. He's consistently been the foundation of both the mid-card and tag team divisions.

Regardless of who walks out of Wrestlemania 37 the winner, Cesaro would be a great challenger to any of the men in the Universal Championship match. He'd be a great foil for heels Roman Reigns and Edge.

He also shares great chemistry in the ring with Daniel Bryan. Cesaro could even claim, since he beat Bryan in a match prior to Elimination Chamber, he's deserving of a title shot. Bryan might even want to give Cesaro a shot if both win at WrestleMania 37.

Over the last few years, WWE stars like Kofi Kingston, Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre have mentioned that they never had major title shots in WWE, before eventually getting those shots. Cesaro is someone that can make the same claim. How can you not root for him after the promo below?

As mentioned previously, Rollins is 6-2 at the Show of Shows. He's won a lot of big matches on the Grandest Stage of Them All and doesn't really need to beat Cesaro at WrestleMania 37.

Cesaro, on the other hand, has a lot more riding on this match against one of the biggest stars in all of WWE. For this reason alone, he needs to defeat Rolllins at WrestleMania 37.

Rollins can regain momentum if he loses. It's also long overdue for Cesaro to enter the world title picture. It might not turn into a reign as Universal Champion, but the last few years have seen former mid-carders like Kingston, Lashley and McIntyre thrive in the main event.

WrestleMania 37 is the biggest spotlight yet for the Swiss Superman and a clean win over someone like Rollins is a big deal. It's not like winning the Andre the Giant Battle Royal.

The commentators always make a big deal when a former WWE or Universal Champion is pinned in a match. On the first night of WrestleMania 37, Cesaro could get that definitive win against Rollins in clean fashion.
