5 Current WWE Couples and the stories of how they met 

WWE has released more than 100 superstars over the past year but despite this, there are several couples who are still part of the company.

Whilst the likes of Mia Yim and Keith Lee as well as Scarlett and Karrion Kross have now left, there are several others who still compete on the main roster.

It should also be noted that there are many couples who owe their relationships to WWE since it was whilst contracted to Vince McMahon's company that they first met.

Several of WWE's list of current couples have some interesting stories regarding how they met and many of them have shared them publicly over the years.

#5. Current WWE Superstars Bianca Belair and Montez Ford

Bianca Belair and Montez Ford are two of WWE's biggest stars at present and are both an integral part of Monday Night RAW.

The duo have been married since 2018 and have come through the ranks in WWE together. Interestingly, Belair and Ford have told the story of how they met several times over the years and the two stars have noted that it was at WWE's Performance Center.

“My husband was already in WWE for a year before me. And like it was like a couple of months, we never said anything to each other, we kind of just like stayed away from each other. But I had like this huge crush on him. I said to my friend, ‘keep that man away from me. That’s a beautiful man. Just keep him away from me.”

"And maybe a couple of months down the line, we all went out to like some random dinner as like co-workers. And we just never left each other’s side. It’s weird; all of a sudden, like we were moving into an apartment together. And we were like, do we even talk about this? So I met him in WWE, and he’s really just been here every step of the way.”

Bianca and Montez were promoted to the main roster at different times but have been able to work together on TV a few times since. It has become well-known that the duo are married outside of the company since WWE has used this detail in several storylines.

#4. Current WWE Superstars Edge and Beth Phoenix

Edge and Beth Phoenix are the first and only WWE Hall of Fame couple at present, after both being added following their respective retirements.

After several years on the sidelines, the two stars have been able to make their return in recent years, much to the delight of the WWE Universe.

The couple have been dating since 2011 after it was revealed that they met the day Edge retired from WWE.

"So, Beth and I started dating after we connected here [Scotiabank Arena in Toronto] on the day of Edge Appreciation,” Edge recalled. “It was so crazy. We were cordial to each other, but we didn’t know each other. That day, we started talking. ‘I had no idea that you trained at the same gym as me by the same people. And, that you wrestled at the same dive bars just seven years after me.’ So, the woman I’m married to and have two little gorgeous girls with, are entire relationship starts here. So, this building is pretty huge for me. It’s kind of overwhelming.”

Although Phoenix recently left her post at the commentary table in NXT, she is expected to be inserted into Edge's current feud with The Miz and Maryse.

#3. Current WWE Superstars The Miz and Maryse

Miz and Maryse have become the "IT couple" in WWE in recent years after the former Divas Champion made her return back in 2016.

The couple have been married since 2014 and dated for several years following Maryse's departure in 2011. Interestingly, the couple first met when The Miz was a judge as part of the annual WWE Diva Search and it wasn't a case of love at first sight.

“He was so mean to me. Oh my God. I couldn’t speak English, and he was rubbing it in my face. He was just like, ‘You can’t speak English. What are you doing here? You can’t work with the biggest sports entertainment company in the world if you don’t speak a word of English'," she recounted.

Despite their original interaction, the two stars later worked together on TV and struck up a friendship that later turned into a relationship.

The couple now have their own reality TV series called Miz & Mrs and share two daughters called Monroe Sky and Madison Jade.

#2. Current WWE Superstars Naomi and Jimmy Uso

Naomi and Jimmy Uso both perform together on WWE's SmackDown brand, and were once both cast members on Total Divas. The WWE Universe has learned a lot about their relationship on the show, including how they first met.

Naomi once told the story of how she was so green in the wrestling business when she first started training in WWE that Jimmy Uso was forced to take her aside and prevent her from being "rude and disrespectful."

“This is where Jon [Jimmy Uso] comes in, and he probably saved my damn job because I was so green,” Naomi stated. “And I remember one time I was new, and after practice, I finished and I was like, ‘Well, thank you, guys! Bye, everybody! I’ll see you guys tomorrow!’ I left out the front door, and everybody was looking like, ‘Where the hell is she going'?!"

“I didn’t help break down the ring. I wasn’t the last one to leave. Practice was over, and I thought everybody just left. I didn’t know that you stay, you help, you break down. And you’re new, you need to be the last one out the door, not the freaking first one out the door. I remembered Jon pulled me to the side and ‘Hey, you can’t leave like that.’ I was like, ‘What are you talking about?’ He was like, ‘No, it’s rude and disrespectful. You got to stick around, make sure your locker room is clean, make sure you help clean up. You just got to pay your dues,’ and then he gave me that talk. And I remembered the next day I came back. I was so embarrassed because people were talking about it. So, I had to come back, and correct, and apologize. "

Not only did the star save Naomi's WWE career, but he struck up a friendship that later led to the couple marrying on an episode of Total Divas back in 2014.

#1. Current WWE Superstars Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch

Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch are widely considered to be the power couple of WWE at present since the duo is dominating the RAW brand.

It was revealed in May 2020 that the couple were expecting their first child, Roux, who was born in December. Since then the duo have been able to make their return to the company and pick up where they left off with their daughter in tow.

Whilst the two stars initially hid their relationship from the WWE Universe, they have since opened up about how they first began dating.

“We’ve been friends for five, maybe six years and we’ve always just gotten along so well. We’ve always been the best of friends. And yeah, we were both single at the same time and one thing led to another… and [we] burned that down with straight fire!”

The couple went public with their relationship in late 2018, before announcing their engagement in the summer of 2019 and then marrying earlier this year.
