With two EPs, three studio albums, and a long list of globally recognized awards and achievements under her belt, Billie Eilish is regarded as a phenomenal and gifted artist. Justin Lubliner, who signed the singer-songwriter to Darkroom and Interscope Records in 2016, has stuck by her side through it all.

In his 2020 Billboard interview, Lubliner opened up about the strategy for paving Billie Eilish's path to stardom, focusing on maintaining momentum.

"What we really wanted to focus on was being as proactive as possible; not only coming up with concepts and ideas but chasing them to death until we achieve them."

True to Justin's words, Billie Eilish recorded the theme song for James Bond's No Time to Die following her Grammy wins. The single went on to fetch the singer-songwriter her first Oscar in 2022.

On February 26, 2021, Eilish released her Apple documentary - The World's A Little Blurry. Later, her second studio album, Happier Than Ever, was announced in April. The album was followed by a world tour from February to September 2022.

Lubliner was named in Billboard's 40 Under 40

list in 2020

In 2020, Justin Lubliner was featured on Billboard's 40 under 40 list which focused on young executives pushing the music industry forward.

Lubliner, currently 33, has been in the music industry for over a decade, starting in 2011. He established The Darkroom, a PR and marketing company for EDM artists. The founder was attending the University of California at the time, studying a music business program.

Over the next three years, Lubliner worked hard to build connections for his company. In 2014, he partnered with John Janick, the CEO of Interscope Records. Together, they launched Darkroom Records as a joint venture and signed their first artist, DJ-producer Griffin.

Justin Lubliner's company primarily focuses on artist development, creative strategies, and fan engagement. This is exactly what they've done for Billie Eilish.

When interviewed about the Bad Guy singer's exceptional win at the 62nd Grammys, Lubliner claimed it was "the best day of my life." The founder was ecstatic about Eilish sweeping all the Big Four categories at her first Grammys, saying:

"To have an artist achieve that level of credibility was such an unbelievable moment. I was the craziest person in the crowd, screaming the entire time."

In his interview, Lubliner credited his "kid at heart" enthusiasm for the early start and subsequent success in his career. The founder said:

"When you're young, you're connected to the culture, new marketing ideas, new social media platforms. When I started my company, I was a college kid marketing to other kids. It's a young person's game at the end of the day, and every day I get older, I feel like I'm slightly less aware.

Justin Lubliner signed Billie Eilish when the singer was just 14

Billie Eilish first caught Justin Lubliner's attention with her debut single, Ocean Eyes, in 2015. Lubliner signed her to Darkroom and Interscope Records the very next year.

In a 2020 interview with Billboard, Eilish recalled how Justin's drive to be helpful had appealed to her from the start, saying:

"When I first met Justin, I felt like he was the only person out of everyone I met that year - and I met with a lot of people - that really saw something and believed in it."

The Lovely singer also shared her experience from her first meeting with Interscope Records, saying:

"There was such an energy in the room in that first meeting with Interscope, and it was radiating off Justin because he had such a strong intention. He didn't have some plan that was to turn me into something different. He really just saw me for exactly who I was and wanted to support that. I think that's rare."

Fast forward to 2024, Billie Eilish dropped her third studio album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, on Friday, May 17. We're yet to find out which tracks from this fresh album make it to the Billboard Hot 100.

Meanwhile, tickets for her Hit Me Hard and Soft tour have already sold out. The tour is scheduled to start in September. The tour spans three continents and will conclude in Dublin, Ireland, on July 27, 2025.
