Single's Inferno season 3 garnered significant attention due to the presence of cast member Lee Gwan-hee and his interesting behavior, which kept viewers on the hook. The Netflix dating show featured six male and six female participants seeking love on a stranded island, and its highly awaited third season aired in December last year.

Basketball player Lee Gwan-hee drew everyone's attention for his remarks on contestants Yun Ha-jeong, Choi Hye-seon, and Kim Gyu-ri. Viewers and netizens criticized the way he addressed the female participants by saying, “This one, that one, and this one.”

During a recent interview with MBC Entertainment, the production team discussed casting process and stated their views on each one of them. With Lee Gwan-hee being the most talked about topic from the show, Producer Kim Jae-won already predicted that he would receive criticism from viewers.

Revealing his concerns about the same, Producer Kim Jae-won told MBC Entertainment,

“There was a comment from a viewer that said, ‘I hate Lee Gwan-hee so much, but it’s not fun when he doesn’t appear, and I hate it when he does,’ and that’s Lee Gwan-hee’s charm.”

PD Kim Jae-won suggested the basketball player to not use social media as he was expecting negative reactions from the viewers about him. He added,

“I told Lee Gwanhee not to access the internet so it wouldn’t affect his competition because he could get criticized a lot before the show aired."

To which the basketball player said,

"I'm okay. I'm preparing myself."

The producer also revealed what the basketball player had said to other cast members about the criticism he would receive, he said,

"You won't be criticized because of me, so don't worry."

According to the producer's perspective, the basketball player was such a nice person and became a good hyung, oppa, and leader to other cast members. Moreover, he also looked for his unpredictable moves in the show which drew his interest towards him.
