Taylor Swift has met Travis Kelce’s parents. She has been seen sitting beside Donna Kelce at the Arrowhead Stadium suite during Kansas City Chiefs games. But while her time with the Kelce matriarch is well documented, little is known about her interaction with Travis’ dad, Ed Kelce.

The father of Travis and Jason Kelce shared her thoughts about the 12-time Grammy Award winner in an interview with PEOPLE Magazine. He has nothing but praise for the musician and is impressed by her down-to-earth nature.

Ed Kelce lauds Taylor Swift’s willingness to help

Swift is well known for surprising fans with personal encounters or gifts. But Ed Kelce also shared that the successful artist and entrepreneur cleaned up empty bottles and cans scattered around the Arrowhead Stadium suite.

The Kelce patriarch said that when Taylor Swift went up for a drink, she tidied up the room by picking up trash. As written by PEOPLE’s Natasha Dye, he added:

“And I'm just thinking, I don't think she got the diva memo. She didn't get the spoiled musician. She doesn't know how to pull that off. And that really to me said a whole lot.”

Ed played high school football like his sons Jason and Travis Kelce. However, he wanted to enlist in the Army but was turned down because he already had the cartilage in his left knee removed. He tried to enlist with the Coastal Guard but did not get in due to Crohn’s disease.

While his football dream didn’t happen, his sons have had successful NFL careers. The Kelce brothers are All-Pro players who have won a Super Bowl title. Jason has one with the Philadelphia Eagles, while Travis Kelce has two with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Travis Kelce and the Chiefs are on fire

Make that six consecutive victories for the Chiefs after defeating the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 7. Taylor Swift was in attendance, and the team hadn’t lost when she watched in person.

Travis Kelce had a monster game, finishing with 12 receptions for 179 yards and a touchdown. It’s his second straight 100-yard game after collecting 124 yards on nine catches against the Denver Broncos in Week 6.

Those performances keep him on track for an eighth consecutive 1,000-yard season, the most among tight ends. Through Week 7 of the 2023 NFL season, he has 48 receptions for 525 yards and four touchdowns.

But the individual accolades, Kelce, Patrick Mahomes, and the Chiefs are playing hard to defend their Super Bowl title. The Chiefs hope to continue winning when they visit the Broncos in Week 8.
