The Dolphins will be on Hard Knocks this season.
The Dolphins will be on Hard Knocks this season.

The Miami Dolphins are still reeling from their 31-17 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles and now the news has dropped that the team will feature on Hard Knocks in season.

With Mike McDaniel and his team considered one of the better units in the NFL with talented players everywhere, getting a behind-the-scenes look at the team promises to be fascinating viewing.

But in doing that, there will be some interesting storylines to follow for Miami, and here are five that are noteworthy.

#5 - How the team copes with the increased attention

Miami for a while hasn't been the center of attention to the degree it is now. With Tyreek Hill and the offense on pace to break several records, having cameras in your face every day midseason could be rather interesting.

How the team copes with that will ultimately decide how their season pans out.

#4 - Can Tyreek Hill get his 2000-yard total?

That was the benchmark that Hill set for himself before the season began and through seven games, he is well on his way.

Hill currently has 902 receiving yards on 53 receptions so the 2000-yard mark is well within his reach.

Seeing how he goes about his business while trying to get that record is going to make good viewing.

#3 - Tua Tagovailoa and his health

After last season, no one wants to see what happened to Tua happen again and through the first seven weeks, the Miami offensive line has done a good job at protecting him.

Until the Eagles game of course. But keeping Tua out of harm's way looks to be the tonic for the Dolphins challenging in the AFC.

Tagovailoa's behind-the-scenes and how he goes about his work is often not made public, fans will see how he approaches his game now with his concussion issues hopefully behind him.

#2 - How Jalen Ramsey changes Dolphins defense

The star cornerback found his way to the Dolphins in the offseason but a knee injury in preseason halted his progress.

Now, Ramsey is edging closer and closer to a return and how he will impact the Miami defense will make for interesting viewing.

With Hard Knocks, fans will see how Ramsey can change the Dolphins defense and if his addition can be what many think, Miami could be about to get even better.

#1 - How Mike McDaniel and Miami deal with the Hard Knocks crew

Depending on which team you ask, having the Hard Knocks crew around all day, every day can either be a good thing or a bad thing. Constantly having a camera around you and watching everything you do can get exhausting.

Conversely, having a camera around can also get into players' minds and force them to do things at a higher level than they otherwise wouldn't due to their actions being on film.

Which way it goes will make for interesting viewing.

Record of teams after featuring on Hard Knocks

Being on Hard Knocks isn't for the faint-hearted and sometimes, it can be detrimental to teams.

But how do teams fare in the season that they feature? Let's take a look. Record via Ramswire.usatoday.com and sportsbet.mgm.com.

  • 2022: Detroit Lions - 9-8
  • 2021: Dallas Cowboys - 13-4
  • 2020: Los Angeles Rams - 9-7
  • 2020: Chargers - 9-7
  • 2019: Raiders - 7-9 in 2019, 4-12 in 2018.
  • 2018: Browns - 7-8-1 in 2018, 0-16 in 2017
  • 2017: Buccaneers - 5-11 in 2017, 9-7 in 2016
  • 2016: Rams - 4-12 in 2016, 7-9 in 2015
  • 2015: Texans - 9-7 in 2015, 9-7 in 2014
  • 2014: Falcons - 6-10 in 2014, 4-12 in 2013
  • 2013: Bengals - 11-5 in 2013, 10-6 in 2012
  • 2012: Dolphins - 7-9 in 2012, 6-10 in 2011
  • 2011: No new season
  • 2010: Jets - 11-5 in 2010, 9-7 in 2009
  • 2009: Bengals - 10-6 in 2009, 4-11-1 in 2008

So the Dolphins look to have an uphill battle if those records are to go by, but with McDaniel at the helm, the Dolphins could be in for a better season than those above.
