Scottie Scheffler had a stroke of luck on the par 4 seventh hole at the 2023 PGA Championship.

His second shot on the 455-yard seventh hole skipped across Allen Creek at Oak Hill, covering a 115-yard distance and keeping par in contention. Unfortunately, World No. 2 golfer missed the 20 feet par putt and had to settle with a bogey. It was one of four bogeys from Scheffler on Saturday, all of which came on the front nine.

The 26-year-old played better on the back nine, posting holes at par and a birdie on the 14th hole. Carding 73 on Saturday, Scheffler has slipped to T5 at 2-under.

Scheffler has been red-hot this season and has already triumphed at two events (WM Phoenix Open and Players Championship) and is currently second in the race to FedEx Cup Championship.

When will Scottie Scheffler resume playing at the PGA Championship?

Scottie Scheffler is in joint fifth place along with Justin Rose at 2-under. Rose jumped three spots with a 69 on the third day at Oak Hill.

Brooks Koepka posted a 4-under 66 on the second straight day at the 2023 PGA Championship to take the single-hole lead at the event. He is followed by Corey Conners and Viktor Hovland at 5-under.

Bryson DeChambeau is in fourth place at 3 under. Rory McIlroy seems to have gained some confidence this week, trailing by four strokes after 54 holes.

Scheffler will tee off at 2:10 pm ET on Sunday alongside Rose. Both are still in contention at the 2023 PGA Championship but will need to perform much better on Sunday.

With a very narrow gap between the top 7 players, it will be interesting to see who has the last laugh at Oak Hill on Sunday.
