Rio de Janeiro, Feb 1: Roma have secured Brazilian centre-back Rafael Toloi on a loan deal until the rest of the season.
The agreement includes an option to buy the 23-year-old in June for 5.5 million euros, Xinhua quoted Roma as saying Friday in a statement on their official web site.
Toloi represented Brazil at under-20 level and was part of Sao Paulo’s 2012 Copa Sudamerica-winning team.
“I am delighted to have this opportunity to play outside of Brazil,” Toloi told media.
“It’s going to be very good for my career to keep learning in a new environment.”
Toloi’s move was secured just hours before the close of the European winter transfer window and is said to have followed weeks of negotiations.
