Twitch streamer "HasanAbi" Piker was at the ongoing protests on college and university campuses when a fan approached him and claimed that re-uploaded his videos allowed the student to partially pay for tuition. Piker was elated at the news and congratulated the supporter for being able to pay for college with his content.

Copyright abuse in content creation is a big point of content for creators, however, HasanAbi has always been a staunch supporter of people uploading parts of his streams to their YouTube channels and has publicly announced that he will not DMCA anybody who does that.

During the protest, the fan approached the streamer and thanked him for not using copyright strikes on those reuploading his streams, and made a claim that revenue from the videos of the Twitch star had paid for their tuition:

"I was able to pay for tuition thanks for that, appreciate you a lot. I was able to pay tuition thanks to you not taking down my videos. For not having not copyrighting your stuff. I really appreciate that."

HasanAbi was elated beyond measure, and could not believe that a fan could pay their tuition by just sharing his content:

"There is no way you paid off your tuition like that. You're lying!"

The person clarified that it did not cover all of the tuition, but a part of it.

"I appreciate it a lot": Fan claims to have paid college tuition by reuploading HasanAbi's streams

HasanAbi is a political commentator on Twitch who has made a name for himself by talking and reacting to socio-political issues of the day. The streamer has over 2.5 million followers on the Amazon-owned platform and has appeared on Piers Morgan's show to debate the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

Piker was at UCLA recently where he joined the ongoing protests and even brought them free pizza. During the IRL stream from the university campus, a fan approached him and claimed having paid part of their tuition fee by re-uploading his content on YouTube and other platforms.

The fan was very grateful to HasanAbi and mentioned that he appreciated the fact that the streamer does not copyright claim videos of people sharing his content:

"I do get things on Telegram but it does not cover all of it. So, I appreciate it a lot."

Hasan seemed quite happy to help out, and even thanked the fan for watching his content:

"Heck yeah man, thank you for watching. Thank you for doing what you are doing, thank you for being here."

HasanAbi has been advocating for Palestine for a long time, even raising over $750K dollars to aid healthcare workers in the area back in October.
