MS Dhoni travelled back home to Ranchi on Sunday, May 19, after the Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) IPL 2024 campaign ended with a loss against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The Faf du Plessis-led side defeated CSK by 27 runs in a virtual knock-out clash at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru to book their playoffs spot and eliminate the Chennai outfit.

MS Dhoni was in the thick of things during the final moments of the match. CSK needed to score 17 runs in the last over to qualify for the playoffs. Dhoni hit the first ball of the over, bowled by Yash Dayal, for a mighty 110-meter six, which sent the ball outside the stadium.

The legendary finisher tried to hit another maximum on the next ball but failed to get a proper connection as he was caught in the deep. Dayal gave away only one run in the next four balls to help RCB pick up a memorable win.

As CSK's journey in IPL 2024 concluded, MS Dhoni immediately travelled back home to Ranchi. An X user shared a video on the social media platform to give a glimpse of MS Dhoni in Ranchi.

"I don't think we have seen the last of MS"- Robin Uthappa on MS Dhoni

Former India and CSK batter Robin Uthappa recently opined that MS Dhoni will not end his career with IPL 2024. He predicted that the legendary cricketer would come roaring back next season after a disappointing league-stage exit for CSK this year. Speaking on Jio Cinema, Uthappa said:

"I don't think we have seen the last of MS. He is not someone who takes these things lightly. He will come back roaring for sure. Even with the narrative, I have seen him bat only in the last 4 or 5 overs, there is a reason for it."

He added:

"He had a calf injury which they initially thought perhaps was a niggle, but it was a little more grave than that. Because of that, he had to manage himself and often as he does, in international cricket and for CSK, he figured out a way to be useful and contribute to CSK."
