UConn Huskies freshman Kamorea Arnold and program star Paige Bueckers are great friends and have posted snaps of themselves together off the court multiple times in the past. Most recently, Bueckers, who has shown the best sides of her friends in the past few weeks, showed off her friendship with Arnold.

Bueckers shared a series of snaps of the duo on her Instagram stories, hyping up Arnold.

"Thank you for bringing me joy and an endless amount of laughs @kamoreaarnold," Bueckers wrote.

Kamorea Arnold always wanted to play for the UConn Huskies and coach Geno Auriemma, who made the team the de facto women's basketball dynasty a few years ago.

Although she got offers from teams like Baylor and South Carolina, Arnold, who led Germantown (Wisconsin) High School to a state championship in 2021, only had eyes for the Huskies, committing as the No. 6 ranked prospect in the country, according to ESPN.

During an interview with The Athletic, Arnold revealed that the only team that she dreamed of playing for was UConn, specifically coach Auriemma.

“When I was younger, that was like one of my top schools,” Kamorea Arnold said of UConn. “The playing style I’m in right now in AAU and my coach, he’s kind of similar to Geno (Auriemma), so just that and then just wanting to be coached by Geno. And then be(ing) around great players like Paige (Bueckers), Azzi (Fudd) and all those great players that are there right now.”

Her parents even decorated her room with a UConn theme when she was young.

Kim Arnold, Kamorea's mother, told The Athletic that she tried to manage expectations when it came to her daughter and her dream of playing for the Huskies.

“She said, ‘Man, when I get older, I’m gonna play at UConn and I’m gonna play for Coach Geno and the environment is going to be electric,’” Kim Arnold said. “I say it’s surreal for her dreams to then become reality. But then for all of it to surface the way it has is just amazing.”

Kamorea Arnold had a stellar 2023-2024 season, averaging 8.9 points on 45.9% shooting from the floor and 33% from beyond the arc, 3.1 rebounds and 3.2 assists, snagging herself a spot on the Big East All-Freshman team.

With the popular Paige Bueckers likely heading to the WNBA next year, Kamorea Arnold might just get the chance to replace her hero as the great hope for coach Geno Auriemma and the Huskies.
