[Watch] Former WWE star Stevie Richards reacts to dangerous AEW spot

AEW's spots and bookings have been called out by veterans of the business time and again. This time, Stevie Richards, who is known to make 'what went wrong' type of videos on his YouTube channel, went ahead and made a small but entertaining video about one of the risky spots on AEW Dynamite: Homecoming that many fans also said was a highly dangerous one.

That spot occurred in the match that featured Sting and Darby Allin (w) Ric Flair facing off against PowerHouse Hobbs and Konusuke Takeshita of the Don Callis Family. Nearing the end of the match, PowerHouse Hobbs and Takeshita decide to put Allin through what can only be described as an aerial horizontal twister.

Allin didn't land safely at the end of that spot and hit his head against the ring rope - which the commentators also pointed out. The referee was seen checking on Allin after the spot. Stevie Richards had a unique reaction to it as well.

Stevie Richards was one of the several professional wrestlers who routinely popped the crowd with some aerial moves back in the day. Richards was in WWE for nearly a decade and is a 21-time Hardcore Champion.

Several wrestling veterans routinely call out AEW for their risky spots

High-risk moves are pretty common in a wrestling program. However, even the most hardened wrestlers can't help but call out a spot that seems unnecessarily risky. Unfortunately, this has happened several times in AEW, a relatively young company that only started in 2019.

In the same Texas Tornado Tag Match, Sting ended it all with a Scorpion Death Drop to PowerHouse Hobbs. The only problem was that the Death Drop was dealt with from the top of the entry stage onto a table below. According to Tony Schiavone, match referee Bryce Remsburg went up to reprimand Sting for that spot.

“You're an idiot, you know that, don't you? You don't have to do this. Fans love you. You don't have to do this.”

Veterans of the industry and fans alike have continuously taken to Social Media to make their cases to Tony Khan for the extreme spots to reduce in frequency, but only time will tell if the boss takes heed.
