A former world champion might be leaving AEW very soon. The star being discussed here is Bryan Danielson, formerly known as Daniel Bryan. The 42-year-old star is a five-time World Champion in WWE.

The American Dragon's contract is set to expire before the AEW All In Pay-Per-View this year. However, he is to stay with the Tony Khan-led company until October 12, 2024, as a full-time wrestler.

A recent report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter updated fans on Bryan's contract status. It was reported that Danielson had promised his daughter that he would leave full-time wrestling this year and he wishes to fulfill his promise.

Upon hearing this news, the wrestling universe went online to share their thoughts on X/Twitter.

Check out some of the fan reactions below:

Some fans want Bryan to return to WWE after his contract with the Jacksonville-based company expires.

"Come back Home DB 👀🤞🏻," a fan requested.
"Well maybe retire in 24 with AEW and go back to WWE at royal rumble?" another fan shared.

Others believe that he will not leave the Tony Khan-led promotion entirely and will still appear in the promotion although less frequently.

"He'll be working with AEW behind the scenes I'm sure," a fan commented.
"He’ll still be with aew just will wrestle on special occasions is my guess," another fan shared.

What the future has in store for The American Dragon remains to be seen.
