AEW fans have been waiting patiently for an update on the status of a top star. New details were revealed just today, and the veteran wrestler being pulled from upcoming events could lead to a major happening.
Rush has not wrestled in the All Elite ring since being on the losing end of the eight-man tag team match at Worlds End on December 30. It was later revealed that he was out due to a hamstring injury and a visa issue. He returned to the ring in late February for The Crash and worked again for the Tijuana-based promotion in March. He wrestled for Lucha Libre Elite this past Sunday, doing battle with LA Park in a bloody main event that ended with no finish.
El Toro Blanco was just pulled from upcoming events by AEW, according to longtime lucha source TheCubsFan. He was scheduled to face Park again at Saturday's MV Promotions show in Tijuana, and then work the main event on Sunday for the AVE promotion, teaming with his brother and father.
The indie groups announced that Rush was pulled due to his All Elite commitments as he is under contract. The La Facción Ingobernable leader has not been announced for Saturday's Collision or Rampage shows or the ROH TV tapings.
AEW does have a general rule of thumb that injured stars must return on TV first, but the 17-year veteran has been wrestling in Mexico since his last All Elite match.
It's interesting to note that All Elite Wrestling has not pulled Dralistico from the same shows in Mexico this weekend. Rush's younger brother is scheduled to team with their father, La Bestia del Ring, at Saturday's MV Promotions show in a Triple Threat against Hijo del LA Park and LA Park Jr., plus the team of Rey Horrus and Xtreme Tiger.
Dralistico and his father are then scheduled to team with Rush's replacement, Psycho Clown, at Sunday's event, going up against Trauma I, Trauma II, and Fresero Jr.
Big card set for rescheduled AEW Dynamite
All Elite Wrestling will continue the build to Double Or Nothing 2024 as next week's Dynamite airs live from the Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg, Ontario, Canada.
Next week's Dynamite was originally scheduled for April 10 at the same venue. Fans who purchased tickets for the April event will be able to use those tickets next week, May 1. This will be a significant episode as it will feature the fallout from Tony Khan's first big attack angle.
