AEW CEO Tony Khan often books some exciting matchups for his Dynamite and Collision shows. The President recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce a huge first-time-ever bout, set to take place tomorrow on Collision.

The announcement was about the FTW Eliminator singles match between Katsuyori Shibata and Rocky Romero. Although both men were a part of New Japan Pro Wrestling for several years, they have never gone toe-to-toe against each other in singles competition. The Wrestler and Romero will lock horns for the first time ever on the May 18 episode of Collision.

On X, Tony Khan announced a first-time-ever matchup between Katsuyori Shibata and Rocky Romero at tomorrow's edition of AEW Collision.

"TOMORROW, Sat 5/18 Saturday Night #AEWCollision @TNTdrama , 8pm ET/7pm CT FTW Contenders Series @K_Shibata2022 vs @azucarRoc With a spot in Wednesday's FTW Eliminator at stake, Katsuyori Shibata collides vs. longtime friend Rocky Romero on TNT for the first time ever, TOMORROW!" wrote Khan.

Tony Khan recently made an important announcement about AEW

The All Elite Wrestling CEO has done a great job in making AEW one of the top promotions in the United States. Khan recently revealed that the company has signed a new deal with the City of Arlington, TX to host episodes of Collision and ROH's Death Before Dishonor PPV event from the Esports Stadium.

The shows are set to air from July 20 leading up to August 17 before the All In PPV event at Wembley Stadium. Here is what Tony Khan said about the announcement:

“We are thrilled to partner with the City of Arlington for AEW’s first-ever events at Esports Stadium. This AEW summer series will add to the rich legacy of major professional wrestling events held in the great state of Texas and serve as the ultimate springboard for AEW: All In London on August 25 at Wembley Stadium,” said AEW CEO, General Manager and Head of Creative Tony Khan. “This partnership would not have been possible without the tireless support of Matt Wilson, Justin Grimsley, the Arlington Sports Commission and City of Arlington teams and of course, our incredibly passionate fanbase throughout Texas.”

The Esports Stadium is the largest venue dedicated to Esports in North America. It will be interesting to see if All Elite Wrestling decides to hold a major PPV from the stadium in the future.
